Carincur and João Pedro Fonseca, directors of ZABRA – Centre for Post-Human Art Research, will lead a community artistic activation in the architectural installation designed by architect Manuel Bouzas, located in the Fontainhas housing development, as part of the architecture and art festival Forma da Vizinhança.

ZABRA develops a practice that interweaves immersive technologies, hybrid identities, and sensorial ecologies, creating environments in which the public is invited to experience new modes of presence and relationship with the world.

In Fontainhas, the collective presents a performance-installation as part of the Noite Branca de Braga programme, conceived as a ritual of encounter, where presences — both human and non-human — recognise themselves in community, through a continuous gesture of reinventing the common.

This activation will take place in Fontainhas, where
Manuel Bouzas’ architectural installation is implanted.

Carincur and João Pedro Fonseca are transdisciplinary artists who have been collaborating as a duo since 2020, developing innovative work at the intersections of art, technology, and science. Alongside their established individual practices, they co-create projects that bring together new media, performance, and audiovisual installations, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence and immersive technologies — including virtual, augmented, and mixed reality (XR). Carincur’s practice explores the fusion of body and technology, creating xeno-voices and post-human entities. Her work investigates acoustic phenomena and (im)material perceptions to reflect on transitions between the organic and the digital. João Pedro Fonseca, in turn, explores cyber-spirituality, spectrality, and the territories of the immaterial. His work is dedicated to creating sensorial environments in which bodies, landscapes, and entities emerge as hybrid, sentient systems, traversing the boundaries between the physical and the digital.
Since 2018, they have co-directed ZABRA – Centre for Post-Human Art Research, a space for artistic experimentation that, through a transdisciplinary and interspecies approach, investigates post-nature as a horizon for contemporary creation.
