Daniel Parnitzke will lead a community-based artistic activation entitled Common Jam, taking place in the architectural installation designed by Atelier Local, located in the São Vicente urban garden, as part of the Forma da Vizinhança architecture and arts festival.

Drawing on local materials — natural, recycled or repurposed — and seasonal fruit harvested from the garden itself, Common Jam invites the collective construction of a handmade stove for the preparation of fruit preserves. The proposal aims to create a moment of encounter around something simple and heartfelt: building and cooking together.

The activity will culminate in a shared pancake breakfast with the local community. More than building or cooking, Daniel seeks to nurture connections — valuing gestures of care and celebrating neighbourhood through collective making and conviviality.

17 and 18 June – Traditional Stove Building Workshop
> 19 and 20 June – Jam Worksho
> 21 June – Pancake breakfast

This activation will take place in the São Vicente urban garden,
where Atelier Local’s architectural installation is implanted.

DANIEL PARNITZKE

Daniel Parnitzke is a German designer with a degree in Social Design from the Design Academy Eindhoven, currently living in Marseille, France. Since 2021, he has been developing projects with a mobile studio, through which he organises workshops and participatory constructions in different countries and contexts. His work explores the idea of ‘pleasure in scarcity’, proposing creative and collaborative approaches to ways of living with available resources. For Parnitzke, material limitations are opportunities to generate collective and meaningful experiences. His creations are objects designed to serve local communities — acting as a pretext for bringing people together, both in the construction process and in the shared use of the objects themselves.
